Black Forrest Croissant

- 5 egg yolks
- 1 cup (245g) milk
- 1 cup (230g) heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 (67g) cup sugar
- 1/2 cup (113g) stick unsalted butter melted
- 1/2 cup (100g) dried cherries
- 1/2 cup (85g) chocolate chunk
- 6 croissants cut into cubes
Instructions
- Spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray. Place croissant
cubes in a baking dish.
- Add dried cherries and chocolate chunks in between croissants.
- In a mixing bowl, combine egg yolks, milk, heavy cream, vanilla,
sugar, and unsalted butter.
- Pour over croissant cubes, making sure they are all soaked.
- Cover with foil and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake (while still covered in foil) for 35 minutes. Remove the
foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
